The neurology and neurosurgery teams at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health are faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine. They offer fellowships and residencies in neurology, child neurology, clinical electrophysiology, and adult and pediatric neurosurgery
Students of neurology and neurosurgery, as well as the residents of Indiana, benefit from the new Indiana University Health Neuroscience Center. This premier center combines comprehensive neurological services in one place for a more integrated approach to care.
The first phase of the center opened in August 2012 and provides an ambulatory care and imaging facility. The next phase, opening in 2014, will provide an innovative research facility to provide patients with easier, faster access to clinical trials and breakthrough treatments.
The Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Neurology at the Indiana University School of Medicine also have paired to offer a pediatric neurodevelopmental disabilities residency.
The Department of Neurological Surgery offers a seven-year neurosurgery residency. Part of that residency is spent at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
The faculty neurosurgeons of the Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine and the private practice neurosurgeons of the Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group merged in 2010 to form Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine, currently the nation's largest neurosurgery practice. This practice provides an exceptional learning opportunity for residents and fellows.
Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine operates the daily functions of the neurosurgery department. Team members serve as faculty, administer the residency program, and support full academic pursuits, including thriving basic science and clinical research programs.
