Family and Guest Visiting
Our healthcare team understands that having family and friends around is important to the healing process. Your family is welcome anytime, but we do ask guests to follow the guidelines below.
When can guests visit?
IU Health Saxony has an open visitation policy. There are no restrictions on when family members and friends can visit. Some hospital areas have limited access, and if applicable these restrictions will be discussed with you when you arrive. Please note that the hospital entry doors are locked 9 pm – 5:30 am. Before or after these hours please enter through the Emergency Department.
Can children come?
In general, it is a good idea to check with a guest relations associate before bringing a child as a visitor. Children younger than age 14 must be accompanied by an adult, other than the patient, at all times. Some units may require health screens or have other limitations on children visiting.
If someone is sick, can they visit?
For your protection, people should not visit if they are sick, especially if they have a sore throat, cold or fever.
Is smoking allowed?
All IU Health facilities are smoke-free. For the safety of everyone, smoking is not allowed in any IU Health building or on the grounds.
What is the IU Health alcohol and drug policy?
All IU Health facilities are alcohol and drug-free.
