Q: Why did you enter the medical field and who had a great influence on your life?
I entered because of my interests in science and my desire to help people. My mother was a tremendous influence on me. She continuously kept me involved in constructive outlets and encouraged me in my interests.

Q: What does success at work look like to you?
My idea of success is recognizing a heart attack before it happens or being a support for a patient in despair.

Q: What does work look like outside of your medical office?
Well, I have a wife and two children, ages 5 and 8. We also  have seven cats, two dogs and now we have two ducklings. Whether I’m exercising or spending time with family, I’m always out for fun and an adventure.

Q: What is a fact about you that others might find fascinating?
Prior to completing undergraduate school, I worked full-time in the ministry for three years. I earned enough credits to become a licensed minister, had I chosen to take the test and take that route.

Q: To date, what is your most memorable moment in medicine?
I was driving home when the traffic slowed. Two cars had been in an accident and there were victims inside the cars. One of the victims was not breathing and I worked with the EMS, trying to save the person’s life. Sadly, the injuries were too severe and he did not survive.
