The physicians and staff at IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians Orthopedics & Sports Medicine believe in a coordinated effort to get your employee back to work safely and efficiently. We have developed a system employing a certified nurse practitioner as a full-time workers’ compensation liaison, working directly with you, your insurance carrier and case managers to expedite care.
At each and every visit, your injured worker will be seen and evaluated by one of our specially-trained physicians, ensuring the highest level of care. Our nurse practitioner is also present at each of these visits, documenting the evaluation and treatment plan to be immediately relayed to the employer and insurance carrier. A formal, dictated narrative by the physician is transcribed and forwarded within 24 hours of the visit. The efficiency of the system allows imaging studies, therapies, and surgeries to be expedited, minimizing lost time.
For emergency situations, our physicians are on call and available for your injured employee in the Emergency Department at IU Health Bloomington Hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
For more information on our workers’ compensation program or to schedule a patient appointment, please contact our liaison, Jayne Crescembi-Pierce, NP, at 812.333.2663.
