Indiana University Health Starke Hospital offers free community classes, held monthly, in conjunction with Purdue Extension - Starke County:
- Dining Out - offered IU Health Starke Hospital, presenting strategies for selecting the best food choices for healthy eating while dining out at a variety of restaurants.
- Label Reading and Portion Control - offered at IU Health Starke Hospital, teaching how to read and compare a product’s food label and ingredients to help choose the healthiest foods on the market today as well as portion control to help keep weight manageable.
- Parenting Counts - offered at IU Health Starke Hospital; topics vary each session.

- IU Health Starke Hospital, in partnership with the American Lung Association, offers a smoking cessation program to the public. Certified American Lung Association instructors teach the program.

- IU Health Starke Hospital offers a Safe Sitter® class to teach adolescent babysitters how to care for children. The one-day class is offered to those ages 11 and older. Safe Sitters will learn: babysitting business skills, basic childcare skills, what to do when a child chokes, safety for the sitter and how to call for emergency help. Cost is $50 per babysitter. A parent or guardian must complete a registration form at time of payment. Class size is limited to 10 babysitters.
