Emergency Medicine

When you face a medical emergency, Indiana University Health provides experienced and effective treatment, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with short wait times.

At Indiana University Health Tipton Hospital, experienced emergency physicians are specially trained to respond to medical emergencies. Our nurses are also skilled in emergency nursing care and are trained in advanced cardiac life support. Our qualified team of physicians and nurses provide care with the support of a 24-hour on-site lab, which includes computed tomography (CT) scans and X-ray services. After you go home, our nurses and physicians are available to answer questions about your emergency care and discharge instructions.

Emergency care capabilities at IU Health include two Level I Trauma Centers equipped to treat the most severe and life-threatening conditions. Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Indiana with highly trained teams who specialize in pediatrics and provide emergency care to critically injured children.

Through our partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine, we participate in research and clinical trials that help us improve outcomes for our most critically ill and injured patients.
