Teen Pregnancy Coalition
The mission of the Teen Pregnancy Coalition is to systematically involve all segments of the community in reducing school-age parenthood. Recognizing that the future of a community depends upon its young people, we are committed to enhancing our children's chances to grow into responsible adults. We believe that pregnancy before high school graduation has broad social and economic consequences for the mothers and fathers, the babies, their families and for society in general.
We support interventions that will give young people the capacity to prevent pregnancy, the motivation and opportunity to continue in school, and prepare for a productive life. We believe that providing improved health, education and social services to adolescents results in parents and children who are emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially responsible.
- Reduce the number of adolescent pregnancies.
- Develop a comprehensive community-wide policy that addresses the complex problems of teen pregnancy.
- Implement an integrated, coordinated system of interventions to reduce school-age parenthood.
