Pulmonology & Respiratory Care
At Indiana University Health, we help you breathe easier with a personalized treatment plan that includes respiratory education, lifestyle changes and medicines.
Indiana University Health Tipton Hospital provides comprehensive respiratory care for inpatients and outpatients with pulmonary (lung) diseases. Our multidisciplinary team includes pulmonologists, critical care physicians and respiratory therapists. The pulmonary function testing completed by the respiratory therapists can help physicians in the diagnosing of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis or other lung diseases. We are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Through education you will learn to recognize the early warning signs of an exacerbation and when to call your physician. Respiratory care can assist with smoking cessation counseling, increasing your understanding of inhaled of medications and side effects, mucous clearance and home oxygen.
