We are pleased to announce that Indiana University Health reached an agreement on a new contract with UnitedHealthcare. This agreement means IU Health physicians and facilities are now confirmed as in-network providers in UnitedHealthcare insurance plans.
Because you have received multiple, and potentially conflicting, messages over the past several weeks, we want to emphasize that as of January 1, 2014, any care received by UnitedHeathcare members from IU Health this year, will be processed as in-network by both UnitedHealthcare and IU Health. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may have caused you and your family.

What does this new contract mean to me?
This agreement means IU Health physicians and facilities are now confirmed as in-network providers in your health insurance plan with UnitedHealthcare, effective January 1, 2014. This allows you to continue your care relationships with your trusted IU Health physicians and to receive care at IU Health facilities.
Is IU Health in-network for me, as a UnitedHealthcare member?
Yes. We are pleased to share with you that IU Health has reached an agreement on a new contract with UnitedHealthcare, effective January 1, 2014. This means IU Health physicians and facilities are now confirmed as in-network providers in your health insurance plan with UnitedHealthcare.
So I can see my IU Health doctor or be treated at an IU Health facility and I won't pay additional fees?
You are still responsible for any in-network deductible and copay amounts as specified in your healthcare benefits plan. We want to emphasize that as of January 1, 2014, any care you received from IU Health this year will be processed as in-network by both UnitedHealthcare and IU Health.
I received care at IU Health during the negotiation period. What charges will my bill reflect?
Any charges for medical services experienced while the two organizations were in negotiations will be treated as fully in-network. We also want to let you know that if you have received services at IU Health this year, we delayed sending bills for services while the contract negotiations were underway. Therefore, while your bill will be delayed by as much as a few months, it will accurately reflect your in-network status. If you have questions after you receive your statement, please contact the IU Health Customer Service team at the number at the bottom of your statement.
