Digestive Diseases at Indiana University Health University Hospital provides patients with access to nationally recognized diagnostic and treatment services for disorders of the digestive tract.
Many gastroenterology procedures, that are now commonplace, were first pioneered by Indiana University faculty members at IU Health University Hospital. The IU Gastroenterology program is perhaps best known for its expertise in endoscopy, which involves inserting a long, flexible tube in the mouth or the rectum to visualize parts of the digestive tract. IU Health/IU Digestive Disorders was ranked #11 nationally in 2012 – 2013 by U.S.News & World Report.
