IU Health Transplant is the largest, most comprehensive center of its kind in the region and one of the top ten transplant centers by volume in the U.S. In addition to unparalleled care and experience, the IU Health Transplant team has successfully pioneered many procedures in use today by our teams and medical providers across the country. These discoveries have made our transplant program stronger, ensuring a positive outcome for more patients.

Our transplant center is one of only a few health systems certified by Medicare to perform all of the following:

• Intestine/Multivisceral transplants
• Pancreas transplants
• Liver transplants
• Kidney transplants

We also collaborate with the expert team at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital to perform heart and lung transplants.

This Medicare certification ensures that patients without insurance receive Part B benefits, covering up to 80 percent of their transplant medications.

We routinely welcome outside groups, such as the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). HRSA frequently facilitates IU Health Transplant visits for hospital administrators throughout the country, using IU Health Transplant as a national model.
