Doug Puckett


Indiana University Health West Hospital President Doug Puckett is a familiar face, having served as a member of the activation team for IU Health West in December 2004. Doug spent eight years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at IU Health West, before joining IU Health Morgan Hospital in Martinsville, IN, as President, in 2012. During his three years at Morgan, Doug led the team through its integration with the IU Health system and, most recently, on its transformation to an outpatient center with a focus on diagnostics, emergency care and wellness services. He looks forward to continuing West's commitment to the highest quality of care and service, and further establishing the hospital as a trusted and valued asset to the community.


Art Vasquez, MBA, CPA

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

Art Vasquez, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, joined IU Health West Hospital in March, 2016. Art comes to IU Health from St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, Indiana, where he led strategic and financial planning for the 190-bed hospital, and spearheaded significant program growth in behavioral health and cancer services to meet the needs of the community. He has prior experience in hospital financial leadership and consulting

Art is a DePaul University graduate, and received his MBA from Purdue University. He is actively engaged in his community, serving on the boards for the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Indiana and North Shores Health Center. He participates as an advisory board member for the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Lisa Sparks, RN, BSN, MHA

Chief Nursing Officer & Vice President of Patient Care Services

Lisa Sparks, Indiana University Health West Hospital's Chief Nurse Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services, joined IU Health West in May, 2004, as part of the hospital's original activation team (pre-opening). Lisa brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience in various nursing leadership, risk management and corporate compliance roles to the position, and a "patient first" philosophy of care is at the core of her values as a healthcare leader.

Lisa received her Bachelors degree in nursing from Indiana University, and her Masters in Health Administration from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.


Tamarah Brownlee, MPH

Vice President of Human Resources

Tamarah Brownlee joined Indiana University Health West Hospital as Vice President of Human Resources in June, 2017. In this role, Tamarah leads the broad spectrum of key HR service functions, including recruitment, training and retention of excellent team members, and employee relations. She also serves as a key partner to the entire IU Health West leadership team in creating and executing action plans to improve the employment experience.

Tamarah comes to IU Health from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), where she served as Executive Director of Human Resources and the Office of Institutional Equity. At IPFW, Tamarah streamlined services, redesigned the HR team to be more strategically aligned with the University mission and increased operational outcomes. Prior to joining IPFW, Tamarah served in HR leadership roles at Parkview Health and Target Corporation. 

Tamarah received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University.


Paul Ivkovich, CHE

Vice President of Operations

Paul has been with IU Health West Hospital since prior to the hospital's opening (joining the team in August, 2003), and has more than 40 years of healthcare experience, much of it in management roles. Paul began his career as a staff pharmacist, then began to take on management-level roles, working his way from Director of Pharmacy Services to Vice President of Professional Services at Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan. Immediately prior to joining IU Health West Hospital, Paul held various management positions at Holland Community Hospital, including Vice President of Operations Support, and Director of Technical Services, Support Services and Facility Planning and Construction.

Paul earned his BS in Pharmacy from Ferris State University, and an MS in Administration with a Health Services Concentration from Central Michigan University. He has been a member of the IU Health West team since August, 2003.


Andrew Nigh, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Andrew Nigh, MD, is a general surgeon with Indiana University Health Physicians, practicing at IU Health West Hospital. Dr. Nigh brings a long history of excellence in care and medical staff leadership at IU Health West Hospital to his role as Chief Medical Officer, having been with the hospital since opening in December, 2004. He has served as Chief of Staff, Vice Chief of Staff and Department of Surgery Chief over the years, as well as on various committees.
