Week One at West

Description

Indiana University Health West Hospital is proud to offer Week One at West, a free monthly education and/or screening opportunity that allows members of the community to come together to learn about a variety of important health topics. All topics--presented by speakers from IU Health West--are ones that can have a significant impact upon your life, health and well-being.

Details for upcoming Week One at West luncheons include:

Friday, July 11*
Fiber: Fact or Fiction
Joni Fiscus, IU Health West Dietitian

Do you know how many grams of fiber you need to eat in a day? Which foods are fiber rich and which should be avoided? Getting enough fiber is something people don't think about all that often. And we are definitely eating more prepared and processed foods, which not only has more calories and fat per meal than home-prepared foods, but also less fiber.

Join us for a fascinating Week One at West seminar featuring Joni Fiscus, dietician and diabetes educator from IU Health West Hospital. Joni will discuss the basics of fiber and how to build a healthy, balanced diet that meets your daily nutrition needs.

* Note this is the second week of the month, due to the holiday.

Friday, August 1
Stroke Smarts (Panel Discussion)

There is no cost to attend Week One at West, but advance registration is required. This FREE monthly health education seminar is available to you simply by calling 317.217.3627 to make a reservation. All Week One at West Events begin at 10 am at IU Health West Hospital in Avon. Light snacks and coffee will be catered by the Garden Cafe.
