Breast cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed in women. But early detection and treatment is your best chance for a cure. The American Cancer Society recommends that every woman get an annual mammogram after age 40. By taking the time to care for yourself, you can be sure you’ll be there for your family and the ones you love.

The Breast Care & Research Center at IU Health West Hospital offers the most advanced breast cancer care and most innovative treatment options available. And now, getting screened at the mammography suite in the Women’s Center is more convenient than ever. We offer:

  • Early morning appointments every weekday
  • Saturday appointments available each month, including every Saturday in October
  • Breast ultrasound and MRI in challenging cases (dense tissue, implants)

You’ll benefit from the latest digital screenings, resulting in clearer pictures which help physicians make a faster and more accurate diagnosis. Our highly specialized on-site radiologists can consult immediately with IU Health and IU School of Medicine sub-specialists without an additional exam.

If a problem is detected, IU Health West Hospital can take you from biopsy to diagnosis in 72 hours, a process that may require weeks in other programs. We also use the latest technology for treatment, including a linear accelerator that helps guide radiation to the narrowest course possible. This targets only the cancer cells while protecting surrounding, healthy tissue. And to make treatment as smooth as possible, your personal Cancer Care Guide will help coordinate appointments and be with you every step of the way.

Through early detection, more and more women are beating this disease every day. Don’t wait.
