*Non-taxed if used for:

  • Books for your medical library
  • CME (the residency requires 20 hours per year)
  • Exams—Step 3, ABFM Boards, etc.
  • Licensing for the state of Indiana

Taxed if used for:

  • Moving expenses

Paid Time Off Plan

The Paid Time Off (PTO) plan is unique in that all the different time-off plans (vacation, holiday, sick) are combined into one in order to give you maximum flexibility in using your time off.

  • 21 weekdays off per year (maximum allowed by the ABFM) Residents have great flexibility in scheduling their vacation.
  • Five CME days per year (in addition to the 21 PTO days).
