Our residency operates on a 4+1 schedule.

PGY-1

  • 19-20 weeks: General Inpatient Medicine
  • 8 weeks: ICU/CCU
  • 10-11 weeks: Continuity Clinic
  • 2 weeks: Emergency Medicine
  • 2 weeks: Cardiology
  • 1 week: Gynecology
  • 1 week: Ophthalmology
  • 1 week: Rheumatology
  • 2-3 weeks: Electives*
  • 5 weeks: Vacation

PGY-2

  • 12-16 weeks: General Inpatient Medicine
  • 8 weeks: ICU/CCU
  • 10-11 weeks: Continuity Clinic
  • 2 weeks: Emergency Medicine
  • 2 weeks: Cardiology
  • 9-12 weeks: Electives*
  • 5 weeks: Vacation

PGY-3

  • 12-16 weeks: General Inpatient Medicine
  • 8 weeks: ICU/CCU
  • 10-11 weeks: Continuity Clinic
  • 2 weeks: Cardiology
  • 2 weeks: Psych
  • 9-12 weeks: Electives*
  • 5 weeks: Vacation


*Two weeks of Infectious Disease to be taken at any time during the PGY-1 or PGY-2 years.

Please note no more than 8 weeks on the same elective in one year and no more than 12 weeks on the same elective during the residency. Exceptions to this rule may be approved by the Program Director.
