Biography
Dr. Amy Palmer is a certified nurse-midwife with a true passion for women’s health and taking the time to get to know women and build a trusting relationship. Within her midwifery scope of practice, Amy cares for women throughout their life span providing comprehensive care that includes:
- annual women’s health exams
- reproductive counseling
- sexual health
- menopause care
- pregnancy
- birth
- care of the postpartum patient.
Amy completed her midwifery education at Frontier Nursing University with her Master's Degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University. After 12 years of clinical midwifery practice, Amy returned to Frontier Nursing University to complete her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2015.
Amy has practiced midwifery in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Her most recent full-scope position landing her in Bloomington at IU Health, as part of a wonderful growing midwifery practice. Along with full-scope practice, Amy is also a clinical faculty member at Emory University where she works with midwifery students to complete their clinical courses and training experience. Amy also spent some time in undergraduate nursing education at the University of Cincinnati, Ivy Tech University, and Frontier Nursing University.
Amy lives in Lawrenceburg, Indiana with her three daughters and two dogs who keep her very busy. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, playing tennis, and spending time by the pool.
