Connie Keung grew up in the Chicago suburbs and received her BA in International Relations from Wheaton College. Her interest in global health brought her to attend medical school at the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, in Israel. She completed general surgery residency training at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Upon graduating from general surgery training, she worked for Indiana University in Eldoret, Kenya through the AMPATH partnership. In Kenya, she worked at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital focusing on acute care surgical delivery while teaching medical students and surgical residents. She returned to America, and completed a Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship in Providence, RI at Brown University.

Her interest is in improving access to surgical care in low-income and rural environments. She has participated in medical educational opportunities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and India.
