Dr. Xie (pronounced as Shay) believes that every chronic pain patient deserves a personalized treatment plan factoring in their age, gender, medical conditions, and social/psychological factors. Dr. Xie offers his patients comprehensive pain management with a focus on minimally invasive interventions to address the root cause of pain and improve their functionality and quality of life. These interventions include but not are limited to:

  • Epidural injections
  • Nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablations (RFA)
  • Peripheral nerve stimulator
  • Kyphoplasty
  • Minimally invasive lumbar decompression
  • Disc graft injection
  • Interspinous spacer

He works in close collaboration with primary care physicians and other specialists to treat most chronic pain conditions, especially conditions that failed medication, physical therapy, and surgery.

Xie completed his Medical Degree at Peking Union Medical College, the top medical school in China founded by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1913. He then completed his Ph.D. training on Regenerative Medicine at Indiana University (IU). He has gone through rigorous postgraduate training at IU including postdoctoral research, General Surgery residency (2 years), and Anesthesiology residency before finishing his fellowship training in Pain Management at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. He is board certified in both Pain Management and Anesthesiology.
