Biography
Shawn was an anesthesiologist and obtained his Ph.D degree in anesthesia in China before he came to the United States to perform science research studies in 2004. His research field was focused on pain and the neural mechanisms involved in the regulation of respiration by opioid receptors and he was ever honored as a Scholar of American Lung Association. He went on to pursue his doctorate of physical therapy at Medical School of University of New Mexico and graduated in 2016.
Shawn is skilled in post-surgical and vestibular rehabilitation, gait disorders, balance disorders and posture correction. He also treats various kinds of pain in orthopedic outpatient settings using both Eastern and Western approaches. He also likes to educate patients on human body movement, proactive healthy life and injury prevention.
Shawn has passion to work with patients of all ages, especially the senior population, to help them make a difference to their lives by reducing pain and improving function, mobility and quality of life. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities.
