How we’ll be keeping you informed this summer

June 12, 2020

To You, Our Valued Patients:

It’s been a long road, but we’re in a new phase. Like you, we’re getting back to our routines. And we’ve been encouraged to hear that many of our patients feel more comfortable coming in for care.

During this phase, we will send updates to you every other week, instead of weekly. At the same time, we continue to closely monitor the situation. And we’re as committed as ever to keeping you safe and informed, rest assured.

FAQs about appointments and safety at IU Health

Q: Can I make an appointment with my primary care doctor or specialist?

A: We are ready to take care of you for whatever care you need, from annual check-ups with your primary care doctor to specialist visits with one of our top-ranked Cancer, Cardiology or Orthopedic specialists.

We’re seeing patients through virtual visits or in-office, based on your situation and comfort level. Call your doctor or find a provider, and we will recommend a care setting based on your needs.

Q: What is the IU Health Safe Care Pledge?

A: The Safe Care Pledge outlines our commitment to ensuring the safety of our patients, team and communities at each IU Health location. It includes:

  • A universal mask policy
  • Limited waiting room time
  • Social distancing
  • Continually disinfecting

You can find more information about the steps we’re taking to keep our spaces safe in our Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resource Center.

Q: Can patients have visitors in IU Health hospitals?

A: IU Health is updating its visitor restrictions, effective Monday, June 15. The revised guidelines allow for one visitor per patient, per day in inpatient areas. Visitors must be 18 or older, and will be screened and provided with a mask, which must be worn at all times while inside the facility.
