IU Health Arnett physicians ready to serve virtually

Highly Skilled

April 10, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many things, but it has not changed the commitment of Indiana University Health to providing all patients the highest quality of care. Our highly skilled professionals are adjusting plans and procedures to best meet the needs of everyone in our community.

“IU Health is here to provide the highest level of care at all times …whether the need is personal or community wide,” stated Kishan Patel, MD, chief of Clinical Practices. “And while that might be our job, to the thousands of us that work here, it’s much more than that. It’s our mission, our calling.”

Primary Care

Most primary care patients may be seen virtually or by telephone when appropriate. The IU Health Arnett Primary Care outpatient teams have been working tirelessly to develop processes to meet the needs of our patients, conserve PPE and keep team members safe. An impressive 98% of our primary care and 97% specialty care physicians and advanced practice providers are now equipped to offer Virtual Visits. The primary care team will work with you to determine the best way to safely care for you. Details on virtual visits can be found at iuhealth.org/virtualvisits.

Urgent Care

The IU Health Arnett Urgent Care located in West Lafayette is still providing immediate care for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries during normal business hours, 8 am – 8 pm daily. Patients may save their spot in line on our website at iuhealth.org/urgentcare.

Emergency Medicine

All IU Health Emergency Departments are open and seeing patients in need of emergency care.

A separate entrance is set up for patients with respiratory issues.

Orthopedics

While many procedures have been postponed, the IU Health Arnett Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team is available to help patients determine the best way to continue their care.

If you have a question about making an appointment or seeing a physician, please use the IU Health provider directory to find a doctor or call our offices directly at 765.448.8000.

“Please stay home, wash hands often, disinfect commonly used surfaces and practice social distancing, we will get through this. And we promise that we won’t rest until we do,” added Patel.

If you are experiencing symptoms or concerned you may have the virus, you should first get screened using the free Virtual Screening Clinic app or calling your doctor. Based on the results of the screening, medical professionals will recommend and facilitate appropriate care and next steps.
