IU Health Bloomington and IU’s Regional Academic Health Center Groundbreaking Ceremony
January 01, 2017
Indiana University and IU Health jointly hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for IU Health Bloomington and IU’s Regional Academic Health Center. The event was held at Henke Hall of Champions on the campus of IU in Bloomington. Over 250 people attended the ceremony led by IU President Michael McRobbie, IU Health President and CEO Dennis Murphy and President of IU Health South Central Region, Matt Bailey.
Mr. Bailey reflected on the meaning of such an important milestone, “This is truly a transformational day in the history of Indiana University Health -- a day that sees us fulfilling a commitment to the community of Bloomington and the entire southern region of Indiana, while at the same time marking the launch of a new and different model of care that will shape how future care is delivered across the IU Health system.”
Work on the site of what was once the IU Golf Course driving range is set to begin in the next few weeks with construction scheduled to be completed on the facility near the end of 2020.
As we celebrate groundbreaking for our new facility, we also look ahead to how we'll "breaking new ground" in patient care, research and education. Watch the entire Groundbreaking Ceremony for IU Health Bloomington & IU's Regional Academic Health Center.
