Odds Are This Guy Has Welcomed You At Riley…Or Methodist Or University

He’s in the military, in the Army National Guard. He likes club racing, especially his BMW M3.
But for his day job, Michael Guerrettaz suits up in a dark coat and red tie and offers a helping hand, a smile, a bit of comfort. He makes that visit to the hospital seem just a little easier.
Guerrettaz is a senior guest relations associate, who has been with IU Health for seven years. He started at Methodist Hospital, then went to University Hospital and then to Riley Hospital for Children.
Now, he rotates at all three – taking his place at 13 different desks. Helping thousands of people.
What does he love about his job? Too many things to name, says Guerrettaz, who is going to college, majoring in finance and accounting at IUPUI.
“There are a lot of things I like about it, just being able to help out, help people,” Guerrettaz says. “I especially like it over in surgery at Methodist when you’re able to help people when they’re in need. Just being there for them.”
In addition to his cool hobbies, Guerrettaz is married to wife, Kristen, and there is a fun fact about those two. Kristen was working at Riley seven years ago when the guest relations job opening popped up. She’s the one who told Guerrettaz about it.
“I said, ‘Why not?’” he says. He applied, got the job – and lucky for all those patients – stuck around.
