The MBA Management Rotation Program at IU Health was formed in 2013 and attracts top MBA students and graduates by offering development opportunities through personalized internships and rotational leadership experiences.

In this highly competitive program, management professionals collaborate with some of the brightest minds impacting the way healthcare is delivered.

The program aims to attract diverse skill sets, backgrounds, work experience and interests, and gives management professionals access to a variety of opportunities to learn and grow in meaningful ways.

The MBA Management Rotation Program exposes MBA students and graduates to real initiatives impacting IU Health, while providing the skills necessary for advancement into management and leadership roles in the healthcare industry.

Previous program participants have worked on a variety of projects including:

    • pro forma/business case development on multi-million dollar initiatives
    • physician alignment strategies for the Indianapolis metropolitan region
    • deal development for hospital mergers and acquisitions
    • new government and payer rules analysis
    • market research initiatives identifing emerging trends within the healthcare industry
    • utilization of design thinking methodologies for care model innovation

    Placement areas may include:

    The Management Rotation Program at IU Health aims to balance the immediate needs and opportunities of the organization with each candidate’s capabilities, interests, and areas for development.

    Management professionals participate in rotation planning discussions, and are encouraged to envision the full breadth of desired experiences to ensure continuous personal and professional development.

    In addition to rotations, management professionals are given opportunities to develop their leadership acumen by participating in a 1-to-1 mentorship program, attending monthly leadership rounding events, or serving on the program’s steering committee.

      At the completion of the internship, the interns may receive an offer to join the full-time MBA Management Rotation Program.

      Full-Time Program

      The full-time MBA Management Rotation Program is designed for those seeking to gain the skills needed to advance into a leadership role at IU Health. The program’s compensation package includes a competitive salary, benefits, sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance.

      Management professionals in the full-time program work alongside leaders to enhance their professional development, while advancing through a series of rotations over the duration of the program. They work collaboratively across business units and departments to coordinate and lead initiatives, provide analysis, and communicate results.

      Participants have the opportunity to interact with senior and executive leadership, providing broad exposure to the system and organizational structure.

      What to Expect
