Allison Shuttz, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer for Indiana University Health Arnett and the West Central region of IU Health.
Shuttz began her nursing career at IU Health in the Neuro Critical Care (NCC) unit at IU Health Methodist Hospital in 2004. Over the years, she has served in nursing roles in Neuro Critical Care and Intensive Care. In addition, Allison has a proven track record of success in a variety of leadership roles including: Nursing Associate Administrator, Manager of Clinical Operations in Cardiac Medical Critical Care, Administrative Director of Inpatient Services at IU Health Arnett Hospital, and interim Chief Nursing Officer for IU Health Arnett and the West Central Region since August 2020.
Shuttz holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from the University of Indianapolis. In addition, she is an American Organization of Nursing Leadership member. During her career she has received numerous awards and recognitions including being nominated for the IU Health Values Leadership Award in 2017.

Over the years, Shuttz has taken on many leadership roles related to organizational change and regulatory needs through use of evidence-based practice, quality indicators and Magnet standards for nursing excellence. As the Chief Nursing Officer for IU Health Arnett, her goal is to continue moving in the direction set by leadership and to continue raising the bar in achievement for nursing excellence.
Shuttz and her husband Eric Shuttz live in Rossville, Indiana with their four children: Dylan, Conner, Mackenzie and Noah. She will begin her Chief Nursing Officer role effective immediately. In this role, Shuttz will have executive responsibilities for directing nursing services at IU Health Arnett and will coordinate with the nursing leadership at IU Health White Memorial and IU Health Frankfort.
