IU Health Arnett announces leadership promotions
Christopher Mansfield, MD

Christopher Mansfield, MD has been promoted to Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) for Adult Hospital Medicine effective immediately. Dr. Mansfield started his career at IU Health Arnett in 2009 as a Hospitalist. Over the past decade he has been an influential clinician and leader within the West Central Region’s hospitals. Most recently, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he committed significant energy to the ACMO role in an interim capacity.

Dr. Mansfield, a Lafayette native and Lafayette Jeff graduate, returned to the community from Denver, CO in 2009 to practice Hospitalist Medicine. He is married to his wife, Nicole, and they have 7 beautiful children. While maintaining his strong interest in fitness and athletics, Dr. Mansfield highly values time spent with extended family and friends. A proud Indiana University alumnus, Dr. Mansfield is nevertheless an enthusiastic Boilermaker fan.

Kishan Patel, MD

Kishan Patel, MD has been promoted to Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) for Ambulatory Clinic Practice effective immediately. Dr. Patel started at IU Health Arnett in 2006 as a Family Medicine Physician. Over the past 15 years he has had impactful clinical and leadership roles within Primary Care and the Family Medicine Residency Program. Most recently, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he too stepped in with enthusiasm to serve as ACMO in an interim capacity. Dr Patel will continue his service as Director of our Family Medicine Residency Program until the next leader of that program is identified.

Dr. Patel joined IU Health Arnett right out of residency in 2006. He and his wife, Minal consider the greater Lafayette community home. Their son Kian and daughter Myka were born at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Dr. Patel is a fan of football and can be found cheering on the Colts and the Boilermakers. He enjoys golf and is willing to play anytime, any day.

Both of the ACMO positions will report directly to James Bien, MD, Chief Medical Officer.
