Introducing Fresh & Fit

A free 10-week program designed to help you get moving, eat healthy and improve your well-being. Indiana University Health North, Saxony and West hospitals have partnered with the Max Challenge of Fishers and the Brownsburg Parks Department to design a program that combines exciting workouts, nutrition, health screenings and consistent motivation that result in fast and lasting changes to overall health, fitness and appearance.

All participants must be 18 and over.
Participants do not need to have an IU Health doctor to participate.

Do these statements sound like you?

  • My doctor wants me to lower my blood pressure, blood sugar or cholesterol.
  • My friends, family and doctor have suggested that losing weight would be helpful for me.
  • I am no longer happy with the image I see in the mirror looking back at me.
  • I’m ready to make a commitment to healthy eating habits and regular physical activity.

If you said yes to at least two of these statements, Fresh & Fit may be your next step.

How Does It Work?

The program begins Monday, March 4, 2019.

The Fitness:

For those in the Hamilton County area:

  • Fitness classes will be held five days per week (M-F) at the Max Challenge of Fishers (located near Super Target at 116th and I-69). Class times are 5 am, 6 am, 9:45 am, noon, 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm and are 45 minutes each. The fitness program incorporates cardiovascular exercise, kickboxing and strength training so that you can burn fat and increase strength at the same time. While the classes are designed for people of all fitness levels, they do increase in intensity over the 10-week period and may not be the right fit for everyone. Modifications to increase or decrease intensity are always provided by the trainers and are completely acceptable.
  • You will be expected to attend class four to five days per week throughout the program, unless you have a preplanned trip or other unavoidable situation that prevents you from being in attendance. No more than one full week (5 consecutive days) can be missed during the program.

For those in the Hendricks County area:

  • Fitness classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday at 6 pm at the Well Community Center (554 Pit Road, Brownsburg).
  • You’ll be expected to work out four to five days per week, with two of those being the classes at the Well Community Center. For days we aren’t meeting in person for classes, you will be provided with at-home workouts by the Max Challenge trainers. In addition, the Brownsburg Parks Department offers fitness classes you can attend throughout the week.

The Nutrition:

  • The nutrition plan is based around three keys to nutritional success: the right foods, the right portions and the right timing. All of the foods can be found in your local supermarket, and there are no shakes or special meals to purchase. Nutritional guidance will be provided throughout the program.

The Commitment:

  • Be serious about changing your current lifestyle habits.
  • Commit to attending/completing fitness classes 4-5 times each week during the 10-week program.
  • Commit to following a nutrition plan designed by the Max Challenge of Fishers.
  • Commit to having three health screenings conducted during the 10-week program. You are required to attend a screening during each of the following weeks: February 25, April 8 and May 13. Screenings will be scheduled during early morning hours and appointment times will be available.
