Individuals who can function independently but need help dealing with personal issues and problems can benefit from outpatient, individual therapy. Patients seeking help for mood and anxiety disorders may choose individual therapy as a way to work through the difficult things in their life and learn tools that can help them move forward.
Patients may choose or be referred to group counseling as a way to work through their problems and learn from others experiencing similar situations.
