Learners from all three of our partners (IU Health, IU School of Medicine, IU School of Nursing) interact with the simulation center throughout their training.
While the majority of our simulation education is offered through the curriculum of each partner, The Simulation Center at Fairbanks Hall does sponsor several courses:
Our interprofessional faculty development series focuses on simulation education. Sessions will be run by local simulation experts from IU School of Medicine, IU School of Nursing and IU Health and will target faculty interested in developing simulation-based educational content. Participants who complete sessions will have an in-depth understanding of healthcare simulation. CME and CE are offered to attendees.
A one month elective for senior medical students focused on simulation education. The goal of this rotation is to learn more about what goes into medical simulation sessions: from the drawing board to educational delivery. Students will be involved with case creation, session programming and setup, as well as controlling high-fidelity mannequins.
