The fitness classes begin on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. You will need to watch a prerecorded kickoff class and attend one health screening prior to the start date. The kickoff class will be virtual and will include an explanation of Fresh & Fit, information about the nutrition program and an exercise form class.
The live virtual fitness classes will be held Monday – Friday via Zoom with an early morning and evening option to choose from. The fitness program incorporates cardiovascular exercise, kickboxing and strength training so that you can burn fat and increase strength at the same time. While the classes are designed for people of all fitness levels, they do increase in intensity over the 10-week period and may not be the right fit for everyone. Modifications to increase or decrease intensity are always provided by the trainers and are completely acceptable. You’ll be expected to work out four to five days per week.
The nutrition plan will be flexible to meet your personal preferences and will include eating the right foods and right portions. All of the foods can be found in your local supermarket, and there are no shakes or special meals to purchase. Nutritional guidance will be provided throughout the program.
You will be required to participate in two in-person health screenings throughout the program. The screenings will be conducted via a finger stick and will measure cholesterol (glucose and lipid panels) and A1C. We will also take weight and blood pressure measurements at each screening event. Health screenings will take place on the following dates: Aug. 30, Aug. 31, Nov. 8 and Nov. 9. The screenings will be held in the early morning hours at IU Health West Hospital.
