Hendricks County Area

Fresh Fit Hendricks County Hero

The program begins Monday, Feb. 24, 2020.

Mandatory kickoff class will be held Sunday, Feb. 23.

The Fitness

For those who live in the Hendricks County area, fitness classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 – 7:45 pm, at Rock Steady Boxing of Brownsburg (1531 E Northfield Drive Suite 800). The fitness program will be led by trainers from the Max Challenge of Fishers. It will incorporate cardiovascular exercise, kickboxing and strength training so that you can burn fat and increase strength at the same time. While the classes are designed for people of all fitness levels, they do increase in intensity over the 10-week period and may not be the right fit for everyone. Modifications to increase or decrease intensity are always provided by the trainers and are completely acceptable.

You’ll be expected to work out four to five days per week, with two of those being the classes at Rock Steady Boxing. On the days we aren’t meeting in person for classes, you will be provided with at-home workout videos by the Max Challenge trainers.

The Nutrition

The nutrition plan is based around three keys to nutritional success: the right foods, the right portions and the right timing. All of the foods can be found in your local supermarket, and there are no shakes or special meals to purchase. Nutritional guidance will be provided throughout the program.

Health Screenings

You will be required to participate in three free health screenings throughout the program. The screenings will be conducted via a finger stick and will measure cholesterol (glucose and lipid panels) and A1C. We will also take weight and blood pressure measurements at each screening event.

Health screenings will take place during the following weeks: Feb. 17, March 30 and May 5. The screenings will be held in the early morning hours at IU Health West Hospital. Screening stations will be located at the bottom of the stairway near the café on the lower level.
