Childbirth Anesthesia
Childbirth anesthesia includes epidural and spinal injections to provide pain management before and during childbirth.
Keeping you comfortable and safe for surgery, childbirth and chronic pain
Anesthesiologists help you stay comfortable and safe when you have surgery, while you’re in the hospital after surgery and when you need help managing chronic pain outside of the hospital.

If your birthing plan includes pain management, such as an epidural, an anesthesiologist provides this service to reduce your pain as you labor. If you require a cesarean section, an anesthesiologist will provide the surgical anesthesia you need.
Even if your birthing plan does not include pain management, our anesthesiologists are available in the case your circumstances change.

Some minimally invasive surgeries and procedures take place outside of the hospital in outpatient surgery centers and clinics. In some cases, the doctors performing those procedures provide the anesthesia and in other cases, an anesthesiologist is on hand.
Anesthesia isn’t just for surgery. If you have a condition that causes chronic pain, you might have care from an anesthesiologist for injections or nerve blocks to help reduce your pain.
