Chemical Peels

Peel away years of sun damage to reveal healthier, more youthful skin

If you have fine wrinkles or sun damage, a chemical peel or an Obagi skin care routine can give your skin a natural glow and improve your complexion. A chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift or mid-face lift, but rather an additional or separate treatment option.

Overview

If you have fine wrinkles or sun damage, a chemical peel or an Obagi skin care routine can give your skin a natural glow and improve your complexion. A chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift or mid-face lift, but rather an additional or separate treatment option.

Your face is uniquely your own and there is no one-size-fits-all solution to your skin concerns. Before you decide on a skin care treatment, we evaluate your skin to determine which procedures would be most beneficial and result in the biggest impact.

Options include:

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel removes fine wrinkles, sun spots and signs of sun damage from your skin in a quick, outpatient procedure. During a chemical peel, the epidermis is removed, and the chemical penetrates into the first layer of the dermis. Chemicals used include Glycolic acid (the mildest), Phenol (the deepest) and Trichloroacetic acid, which can be used in varying strengths for longer-lasting smoothness.

Obagi Skin Care

Obagi skin care offers the same results as a chemical peel, over a longer period of time. Unlike a chemical peel, there is no downtime with Obagi. With daily maintenance over nine months to a year, the full line of Obagi products offers an effective way to accelerate skin resurfacing. The results are a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, rough skin, large pores and sun spots as well as a revitalized, more youthful appearance.

After chemical peel your skin will be red and tender. You will need to apply ointments to keep the skin soft and supple. Also, avoid sunbathing and extreme temperatures.

New skin will emerge in about two weeks and redness of skin will usually fade in about four weeks. Even after you are healed, use sun block at all times, as this procedure will lighten skin color.
