Facelift

Turn back the clock to reveal a younger looking face

Sagging skin occurs naturally as we age, causing folds and deep creases to appear on the face and neck. A surgical facelift or mid-face lift can repair sagging, drooping and wrinkled skin on the face and neck.

Overview

Sagging skin occurs naturally as we age, causing folds and deep creases to appear on the face and neck. A surgical facelift or mid-face lift can repair sagging, drooping and wrinkled skin on the face and neck.

A facelift or mid-face lift can help with these common problems caused by age:

  • Undefined neck and jawline
  • Jowls—loose skin hanging from the neck
  • Looking older than your actual age
  • Lost volume in the face
  • Sagging skin in the face and neck
  • Wrinkles

When you choose to have a face lift or mid-face lift, you will have a stronger neckline and sharper jawline while maintaining a natural, refreshed look.

Facelift

A facelift is designed to lift and restore a sagging jawline, neck and jowls and give greater contour and definition to your neck and chin. During the face lift procedure, your surgeon will make an incision at the hairline near your temples and around to the lower scalp. In some cases, a second incision is made under the chin. The surgeon will then reposition the tissue and muscles under your skin in order to lift the sagging areas. The skin is then laid back over the new facial contours and any excess skin is trimmed away. Your incisions will be closed with sutures or a special type of glue.

Mid-face Lift

Over time, your mid-face may descend downward, giving a hollowing appearance. A mid-face lift reduces creases and wrinkles of the face typically found between the nose and next to the lips and refreshes the face by lifting the cheeks and the corners of the mouth.

A mid-face lift is a minimally invasive procedure. First, your surgeon will make tiny incisions in the hairline. Next, the surgeon will reposition the tissue under the skin in order to lift the entire mid-face. In some cases, the surgeon may use liposuction to remove fat cells from your own thigh or abdomen and inject those into your face. Those cells will incorporate themselves into your face and add natural volume.
