Biography
Dr. Mercado received his MD at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2018, after which he did his residency in Diagnostic Radiology with an Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR track) at Indiana University School of Medicine. He then completed an independent residency in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute in 2024.
His professional interests include chronic limb threatening ischemia (CLTI) and limb salvage. His goal is to improve access, rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients with CLTI to prevent unnecessary amputations. He is also interested in teaching the new wave of interventional radiologists to own their patients, build new service lines and improve their clinical skills to take better care of the patients they serve.
