Biography
Allison Knight, PT, DPT, is a highly accomplished Advanced Registered Physical Therapist at IU Health, with over a decade of experience spanning both acute and outpatient care. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Indiana University Bloomington and went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Midwestern University in Illinois. Throughout her career, Allison has made a significant impact in the care of transplant patients, working in acute care settings at IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals and continuing their rehabilitation journey at the COLTT Center. Her unique role allows her to begin working with patients as early as post-operative day one and follow them through recovery until they regain independence and are ready to return home. This continuity of care reflects her deep commitment to patient outcomes and her passion for helping individuals reclaim their lives after transplant. Allison specializes in the treatment of cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions, including (but not limited to):
- Lung transplant
- End-stage lung disease
- Heart transplant
- Heart failure
- Post-intensive care syndrome
- Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)
Outside of her professional life, Allison enjoys staying active, traveling, reading and spending time with her dog.
