Anil T. Ozcil, MD

Dr. Anil Tamer Ozcil, MD, FEBO, is a triple fellowship-trained ophthalmology and glaucoma specialist who serves as an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine. He provides comprehensive care for patients with glaucoma and other eye diseases, offering advanced medical, laser, and surgical treatments with a commitment to preserving vision and improving quality of life.

Dr. Ozcil is a glaucoma specialist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of both common and complex eye conditions. He provides comprehensive glaucoma care through individualized treatment plans that may include medications, laser therapy or advanced surgical intervention. His clinical expertise includes primary open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, normal-tension glaucoma, ocular hypertension and comprehensive ophthalmology.

As a triple fellowship-trained ophthalmologist, Dr. Ozcil offers advanced surgical care, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage devices, cataract surgery, and combined cataract and glaucoma procedures. He also performs laser treatment such as selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI), utilizing evidence-based techniques to help patients preserve vision and maintain independence.

Dr. Ozcil is committed to compassionate, patient-centered care while incorporating advances in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment. His broad subspecialty training in glaucoma, medical retina, and pediatric ophthalmology enables him to care for a diverse range of patients while helping them achieve the best possible long-term visual outcomes.

Education

Dr. Ozcil earned his medical degree from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University in Turkey and completed his ophthalmology residency at Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Faculty of Medicine. He completed fellowship training in glaucoma at IU School of Medicine, medical retina at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Joslin Diabetes Center and pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the University of Cincinnati. He is board certified by the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) and holds ECFMG certification and an Indiana medical license.
