Biography
Annie Morken, M.S. CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist with IU Health Neurorehabilitation & Robotics. Annie completed her undergraduate degree in speech and hearing sciences at Indiana University-Bloomington. She then attended Purdue University-West Lafayette, where she obtained her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.
Annie has 4 years of experience working across multiple settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing and outpatient rehabilitation. Annie specializes in the treatment of neurological conditions, including (but not limited to):
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury
- Parkinson's Disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Neuromuscular diseases (such as muscular dystrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, multiple systems atrophy, etc.)
Annie works on a variety of treatments with her patients to facilitate their recovery, and some of those include:
- Cognitive therapy
- Swallowing therapy
- Voice therapy (including specialized certification in voice programs designed for patients with Parkinson’s disease—LSVT and SPEAKOUT!)
- Language therapy
Annie’s favorite thing about working with the adult neuro population is the ability to provide education to and collaborate with patients and their families to achieve their goals. Outside of work, Annie enjoys traveling to new places, cooking, reading and spending time with loved ones.
