Fatih Zor, MD

Dr. Fatih Zor, MD, currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery division in the Department of Surgery at IU School of Medicine. Zor received his medical degree from the Gulhane Military Medical Academy, Ankara, Turkey.

Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Zor worked as faculty in Plastic Surgery at Gulhane Military Medical Academy for over 10 years. Following retirement from the Turkish Armed Forces, he was recruited by Wake Forest University and relocated to the United States.

His clinical focus is in plastic and reconstructive surgery and includes general reconstruction, microsurgery, burn and burn reconstruction surgery and craniofacial surgery.

Dr. Zor’s research focus is on vascularized composite allotransplantation (hand, face and eye transplantation), tissue/nerve regeneration, wound healing and microsurgery. He has served as the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Zor is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, International Society of Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation, American Society of Transplantation, Turkish Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and Turkish Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery. He currently serves as the councilor for the International Society of Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation.
