- Specialties & Details
Gabrielle is a clinical speech-language pathologist with a specialization in voice and upper airway disorders. Her areas of clinical interest include:
- Professional and non-professional voice
- Vocal cord dysfunction
- Chronic cough
Raised in a family with musical and medical influences, Gabrielle was naturally drawn toward her chosen career path. From a young age, she trained as a singer and participated in various prestigious musical theater programs throughout the country.
She developed a unique passion for understanding the anatomy and physiology of the vocal mechanism, as well as its related respiratory and musculoskeletal systems. These interests in combination with a deep desire to help others ultimately propelled Gabrielle into her graduate studies in speech-language pathology at Northwestern University and subsequent clinical fellowship at The Voice Clinic of Indiana.
In her clinical practice today, Gabrielle takes great pride in the unique crossroads at which she stands between the sciences and the arts. She works with her patients to create a bridge of understanding between the worlds of medicine and science and their individual life circumstances and goals.
Patients who work with Gabrielle can expect to gain:
- A personalized plan of care that addresses their specific needs
- Meaningful insight into optimal vocal health and/or upper airway function
- A broad range of therapeutic tools to ensure functional outcomes and successful carryover into daily life.
Gabrielle continues to study voice privately with internationally recognized, master voice teachers, Tessa Lang and Johannes Schwaiger. She is currently an active participant in their certification program for voice professionals: Physical Integration of the Voice: A Journey Through Science and Nature.
She maintains a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a member of their Special Interest Group in Voice.
