Biography
Hadassah (Haddie) S. Katz, CNM, was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. She is a certified professional midwife (CPM), certified nurse midwife (CNM) and childbirth educator.
Katz received her Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies and Human Sexuality from Indiana University and went on to become a certified doula, serving clients in home and hospital settings, while learning about out-of-hospital birth.
She began her midwifery education in Indiana before moving to attend the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. There, she completed her Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC)-accredited program and full-time apprenticeship through three birth centers and home birth practices. She practiced in home and birth center settings before returning to Bloomington.
Katz resumed her midwifery education during the pandemic, earning her nursing license and finishing her master's degree in 2025 from Frontier Nursing University’s Community-Based Nurse-Midwifery Education Program (CNEP). Midwifery access and reproductive justice are two things that Katz is passionate about.
When not working, she enjoys spending her time outside and with her family.
