Biography
Hussain I. Rangoonwala, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist based in Indianapolis. He splits his time providing inpatient hematology/oncology consultations at IU North/West and serves as the on-ground Oncology Team Leader for the longstanding IU-AMPATH (Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare) partnership based in Eldoret, Kenya.
Dr. Rangoonwala completed his medical education in India and then came to the US, where he first completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Creighton University in Omaha, NE, in 2021, followed by a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Indiana University in 2022. He completed a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship also at Indiana University in 2025.
It was during his hospice and palliative medicine fellowship that Dr. Rangoonwala found his calling in global health and oncology. His areas of academic interest include the following: global oncology, breast/esophageal cancer and global oncology curriculum development.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, pickleball and is an avid cricket enthusiast.
