Biography
Karisa Durbin, PA-C, is a physician assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery with IU Health. Since beginning her practice in 2021, she had been dedicated to making a positive impact on her community by helping patients improve their health, mobility and overall quality of life. Her passion for healthcare is rooted in a desire to serve others, including medically under-served populations and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
Karisa takes a holistic approach to treatment, viewing each patient as more than a diagnosis or condition. She is committed to actively listening, understanding her patients’ concerns and learning about the activities, relationships and goals that are most important to them. By considering each patient’s overall health and lifestyle, she works to develop personalized care plans that support meaningful, long-term outcomes.
One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is building relationships with patients and having an opportunity to help them achieve a better quality of life through individualized care and treatment.
Outside of work
Karisa enjoys traveling with her husband, especially international adventures. She also enjoys cooking, baking and spending time with her dog.
