Biography

Kathryn “Katie” Fischer, PA-C, provides comprehensive, compassionate care for patients of all ages. While on her primary care rotations during PA school, she enjoyed managing a wide range of conditions, discussing preventative care and establishing trusting relationships with patients. She is excited to begin her career as part of the IU Health Primary Care team.

When not caring for patients, Katie likes to go for walks outdoors, work on craft projects and spend time with friends and family. She also likes to travel whenever the opportunity arises. Since moving to Indianapolis, Katie has enjoyed searching for local coffee and plant shops and is looking forward to exploring the Indianapolis area more.

Katie joins Indiana University Health Primary Care as a family medicine physician assistant. She has been certified by the NCCPA since 2025. Katie completed her undergraduate education at IU Bloomington, graduating with high distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and minors in Psychology and Spanish. She was a member of IU’s Hutton Honors College and was recognized as a Founders Scholar. After graduating, Katie worked as a medical asssistant in a dermatology clinic for three years. Through this experience she acquired valuable knowledge and skills while gaining insight into the role she wanted to fill as a member of the healthcare team. She then attended Butler University where she earned both her Master of Physician Assistant Studies and Doctor of Medical Science degrees.
