Biography
Kim Riggins is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who specializes in women’s health care from adolescence through menopause, with a special focus on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
Kim received her nurse-midwifery education through the University of Cincinnati in 2020. She is board-certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board and has been a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives since 2021.
Kim began her career as a labor and delivery and postpartum nurse in 2013. She has greatly enjoyed serving the families of southern Indiana during this time. During clinical training for her midwifery degree, she had the ultimate privilege of serving a community of individuals who valued low-intervention care and taught her about the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle during pregnancy and delivery. She has a passion for serving those in rural communities to improve access to high quality care. Kim also values relationship-based care and getting to know the patients and families she serves, and caring for them throughout their lifespan. Kim is excited to be part of the Midwife program at IU Health Bloomington RAHC.
Kim was born and raised in Bloomington, IN, and now resides just outside the city. She enjoys spending time with her 2 wonderful kids and husband. Together they love to travel, spend time on their hobby farm, enjoy the outdoors, and be active in their church.
