Biography
Rebecca Evans (she/her) is a certified nurse-midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner. She began her career as a registered nurse in 2007 after graduating from Xavier University in 2007 with her BSN. After working for several years in the NICU she decided to shift gears and pursue her dream of a career with a public health focus. In 2012 she graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned her MS in midwifery and a post-master’s certificate in women’s health. She stayed in Chicago for several years working at UI’s large academic midwifery practice. She then moved to Denver, CO and again worked in a large academic midwifery practice for UC Denver. In 2016 she moved to Indianapolis and worked for Planned Parenthood while completing her doctorate. She also continued to work in Denver as a CNM laborist. She graduated with her DNP in 2018 and then joined IU Health. She now solely works for IU Health focusing on contraceptive research under the family planning division and full scope midwifery, both at the downtown Riley practice and the Arnett practice in Lafayette. Rebecca is passionate about all aspects of reproductive health care and providing individualized, compassionate care that meets the needs of the patients she serves. In her free time she loves to spend time with her wife, their 3yo and 2 dogs, read, hike, travel, and cook.
