Biography
Dr. Rija Ghazanfar is a board-certified neurologist.
What Dr. Ghazanfar Treats
Dr. Ghazanfar cares for patients with a variety of needs, including:
- Headaches
- Movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease
- Neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Stroke follow-up and prevention
- Epilepsy
- Cognitive disorders
Education
Dr. Ghazanfar attended medical school at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, where she was born and raised. After medical school, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she completed a four-year neurology training at The Houston Methodist Hospital. She always knew she wanted to practice outpatient neurology in a quieter town than Houston, which is why she decided to move to Bloomington.
Outside of Work
When not caring for patients, Dr. Ghazanfar loves spending time with her family, being a mom of two. She also loves to sketch using pencil or charcoal along with painting with acrylics.
