Ryan R. Karim, CNM

Ryan Raishalle Karim, CNM, IBCLC, is a fierce advocate for health equity, cultural humility, reproductive justice and whole family wellness. She brings 15 years of maternal-child health experience to IU Health as a Certified Nurse Midwife. Deeply committed to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care, she leads with a balance of expertise and humility. Ryan specializes in full-scope midwifery, including: well-woman and gynecological care, LGBTQ healthcare, sex education and family planning, obstetrical care and water birth and menopause care.

Embodying perseverance, Ryan earned her Master in the Science of Nursing degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2025. Her unwavering dedication to be a catalyst for change in improving maternal health outcomes, promoting whole person wellness, supporting seasoned women as they navigate menopause, being a provider deemed to be safe by the community and creating a safer world is why she answered the call to become a midwife.

When Midwife Ry is not midwifing, she enjoys being a global citizen, delighting in places steeped in rich culture and history, giggling with her friends, discovering boutiques, listening to live music and dancing to Afro-Beats.

While she serves the community in various roles, in her most important role, Ryan graciously mothers three beautiful girls!
