Biography
Dr. Sarah M. Elsakr, MD (pronounced "Elsa-car", as if Elsa from Frozen had a car) joined Indiana University School of Medicine faculty in 2025 after moving to Indiana with her family. Dr. Elsakr completed both her residency and fellowship programs at teaching institutions ranked in the Top-10 Children's Hospitals in the Nation by the US News and World Report.
As a board-certified child neurologist, Elsakr is interested in helping families navigate new diagnoses and manage long-term conditions. Due to her specialized fellowship training in pediatric epilepsy, she is able to manage more complex epilepsy cases, including those which do not respond to first-line treatments or which would benefit from surgical treatment.
Outside of her clinical life, Elsakr enjoys spending time with her family, reading fiction and exploring new bookstores and coffee shops.
