BEDFORD, Ind. – IU Health Bedford Hospital recently gained a helping hand in the COVID-19 (coronavirus) fight when it was awarded a grant of $5,000 from the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) for the purchase of relief supplies.
Over 250 IU Health team members and all visitors to the Bedford facility will be impacted by the new personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory hygiene stands that were purchased with these funds.
“The funding from this grant will have a long-term impact on our overall disaster supplies,” said IU Health Bedford Hospital President Brad Dykes, FACHE, MHA, MBA. “This grant positively impacts our overall stock thus allowing our team members to have immediate access to critical equipment needed to provide excellent and safe care to our patients.”
The IU Health Bedford Hospital team strategically chose to improve PPE placement for every hospital entrance point and high touch areas such as the cafeteria in order to better protect all people within the facility from potential spread of COVID-19.
This team is dedicated to caring for all who need medical assistance in this community, and this grant ensures that the team is increasingly prepared for potential future COVID-19 related patients or other healthcare issues that require PPE.
